SQUARE AND RECTANGULAR MANHOLE COVERS AND FRAMES
TOPS FOR BRICK-BUILT MANHOLESVanstone manufactures two sizes of non-round precast concrete Manhole Covers of which the "clear opening" or "internal" sizes are 600 x 600mm and 450 x 600mm respectivly. The Covers come with precast concrete Frames or Surrounds that serve as tops for standard brick-built manholes. Standard brick manhole sizes are the "internal size" plus 110mm or 220mm brick walls on either side. |

Precast concrete does not get stolen because it has very little scrap value. It is also heavy and difficult to carry away. Besides that, it is simpler and less costly to install. The precast concrete surround is simply placed on a mortar bed on top of the brickwork.

LOAD BEARING CAPACITY
All covers are medium duty and suitable for slow moving light vehicle traffic wheel loads. Occasional or accidental heavy vehicle wheels going slow will not break it. It is not suitable for installing in the roadway.
