PLINTHS

Plinths or mounting slabs are used to securely install mini substations, electrical cabinets, ring main units, generators, fuel cells, kiosks, machinery, indusrtial appliances or any piece of equipment that needs a stable base and secure anchoring.

Vantone manufactures precast concrete plinths of any shape, size and purpose for its customers. Many plinths like the ESKOM range are standard for which moulds exist and these can be produced rapidly and economically. In parallel with the most popular ESKOM plinths, Vanstone has a range of more economical INLAND plinths. The INLAND Plinths are equal in size but use galvanised steel fittings instead of stainlass steel. All INLAND Plinths have removable MV cable entry doors but no handles.

The advantages of using Precast Plinths are:
  • Quick turn-around time. The whole installation can be completed in one day.
  • Anchour bolts may be cast in ready for use.
  • Sleeves, ducts, holes or knock-outs may be accurately cast in.
  • Earth bars, service openings or anything that the customer requires may be incorporated.
  • Site labour and equipment is substantially reduced bringing about savings and minimal disturbance.
  • Precast with superior manufacturing control are usually stronger, more accurate and looks better.
